We believe that freestyle kayaking is about more than just the results, fostering personal development, community and appreciation for the outdoors alongside our targeted technical coaching.
Participant Suitability:
As a minimum, to get the most out of this programme participants should have fundamental boat control skills to comfortably paddle on Grade 2/3 water. This includes basic manoeuvres such as breaking in/out, ferry gliding, and a consistent roll. Occasional swims are absolutely fine (we’re all between swims!), but multiple participants swimming in one session can really disrupt the coaching for others.
Some venues are better suited to beginners. Hurley on 2-gates for example, whereas Boulters and Marsh are better suited to intermediates with a solid roll.
If you’re unsure of your suitability we can provide induction sessions that will fast track you to joining our freestyle sessions.
Who are these sessions for?
Kayakers of all levels, new to freestyle or absolute pro level, there’s always more to learn!
Which type of boat is suitable?
Ideally a freestyle boat or river play. If you don’t have the right boat we have some you could borrow.
Do you provide insurance coverage?
Our courses do not include personal insurance coverage. We recommend that participants have their own insurance to cover any personal accidents or injuries.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellation fees may apply, depending on the notice given. Refer to our booking terms and conditions for more information.
